Attendance/Make up
If a student is unable to attend a scheduled lesson, the Noel Pointer Foundation (NPF) must be notified at least 24 hours in advance at info@noelpointer.org.
Each student is allowed one excused absence per semester to be made up, provided NPF receives 24 hours’ notice. In cases where the teacher is absent or cancels, the missed lesson will be made up and does not count towards the student’s allowed make up. Any lessons will be rescheduled towards the end of the semester during the scheduled make up week or earlier in the semester if time and space allow. Lessons will not carry over to another term.
Absences or call outs without 24-hour notice are considered unexcused and will not be made up. If a student misses three consecutive weeks of lessons without valid communication, they may be dismissed from the program.
This policy applies regardless of the reason for the absence, including illness, traffic, or unexpected delays. NPF maintains a 24-hour notice policy with our instructors: if a student cancels within 24 hours or fails to attend, the teacher is still compensated. Any make ups of last-minute cancellations would result in a financial cost to NPF, not covered by tuition, and therefore cannot be rescheduled.
Lateness
Lessons and classes WILL NOT be adjusted to account for late arrivals as most classes are scheduled back to back. It is up to your discretion if you know you will be late to a class if you want to attend the remaining time. If a student has missed half of their class WITHOUT any communication as to a late arrival, we will assume they will not be attending and the teacher may leave. It is not the responsibility of NPF to follow up if a student will be attending class if they are late. NPF may call absent students who are attending full days of the Summer Program.
Make ups and refunds are not given for partial lessons.
Class Cancellations
NPF reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. In such cases, all unused tuition fees will be refunded. If NPF cancels a lesson or class due to a teacher’s absence or bad weather, the class will be rescheduled or a credit will be given at the discretion of NPF.
Photo/Video Release
By completing your registration form you give your consent for NPF to take photos, audio, or video footage of classes, lessons and/or concerts without advance notice, and to publish such photos, audio recordings and video footage royalty-free in its print, audio and electronic promotional efforts, including the website. There is an option in the registration form to withhold consent from using individual photos of your child, but if they appear in group photos (2 or more students) they will not be edited out.
