The Noel Pointer Foundation (NPF) has a proven track record of enhancing music education in New York City public schools.
Since 1998, our In-School String Program (funded by the NYC Department of Education) has served over 35,000 students from Pre-K through 12th grade.
Schools with music programs boast a 90.2% graduation rate and a 93.9% attendance rate, compared to 72.9% and 84.9% in schools without music education (National Association of Music Education, 2006).

With a student-to-teacher ratio of 15:1, every student enjoys a minimum of 2 hours of quality instruction each week.

Our curriculum encompasses technique, theory, history, and small ensemble or chamber orchestra experiences, providing a well-rounded education.
Performance Opportunities
Students have numerous chances to showcase their talents throughout the city, including opportunities at Lincoln Center and the exciting annual Fiddlefest Performance.
The NPF works closely with schools to customize our programs, ensuring they meet the unique needs of each student while aligning with the New York City Department of Education’s Blueprint for Teaching and Learning Music.
